This position focuses on supporting multicategorical students, primarily working with 1-2 students at a time, representing a variety of abilities. Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement
- Previous experience supporting secondary-level students with diverse learning needs
- Ability to differentiate instruction in reading or math for high school students
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with educational teams
- Skilled at building rapport and fostering trust with students from various backgrounds
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver individualized instruction in reading or math to small groups or one-on-one, targeting each student’s learning goals
- Adapt and implement curriculum in accordance with IEPs and district guidelines
- Maintain thorough records of student progress and provide input in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with general education staff, specialists, families, and administrators to best support each learner
- Promote an inclusive classroom culture that encourages academic and social growth
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education
