A rewarding contract opportunity is available for skilled Special Education Teachers ready to support students in a dynamic, collaborative school setting near Minneapolis, MN. Multiple positions are open, each offering unique responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching license (Tier 3 or 4 preferred, but open to all licensure levels)
- Experience or strong interest in case management and classroom instruction
- Ability to adapt lessons for students with a variety of needs (cross-categorical, ASD, EBD, OHD)
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and classroom management skills
- Background working with autism spectrum disorder, emotional/behavioral disorders, or students requiring social/emotional supports is highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
Position 1:
- Manage a caseload of 14 cross-categorical students
- Teach 3 periods of Strategies (social/emotional skills, study support), 1 period of Reading (curriculum provided), and 1 period of Transitions (focused on leisure and social skills for students with higher ASD needs)
Position 2:
- Serve as a center-based teacher in the ACES program for students primarily identified with ASD
- Emphasize communication skills, sensory regulation, and teaching functional alternatives to inappropriate behaviors
Position 3:
- Teach in a center-based setting working with students with EBD or Other Health Disabilities
- Focus on regulation, social skills, and foundational “how to be a student” concepts
- Deliver comprehensive academic instruction, with an eventual goal to support student integration into general education settings
This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week contract position where your expertise will make a direct impact on students’ academic and personal development.
