Special Education Teacher in Minneapolis, MN

Two unique teaching environments are available to match your experience and passion:

• Center-based MAPD: Located at an elementary setting, this position serves students primarily identified with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD). You’ll deliver tailored instruction and support, helping students build essential skills for success.
• Center-based ACES: In another elementary environment, you’ll work with students primarily identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who have functional communication needs. You’ll utilize the Unique Learning Systems alternative curriculum to personalize learning and foster student growth.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching license in Special Education
• Experience working with students with EBD and/or ASD preferred
• Familiarity with alternative curricula such as Unique Learning Systems is a plus
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive environment for students with diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum for students
• Use evidence-based interventions and behavior management strategies
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Document student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders
• Support students’ social-emotional development and promote independence
