Special Education Teacher in Minneapolis, MN

Make a real impact supporting elementary students in a dedicated special education setting near Minneapolis, MN! This rewarding contract opportunity is ideal for a compassionate Special Education Teacher who specializes in serving young learners with unique needs.

You'll have the chance to work with a small group of six students in grades K-1 within a setting III program designed for students with significant developmental and cognitive disabilities (DCD). Your support will help foster growth, independence, and confidence in your students while collaborating closely with families and a multidisciplinary staff.

What We’re Seeking:

• Valid Special Education Teaching license in MN (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience or coursework in DCD or similar settings preferred
• Comfort and compassion assisting students with personal care needs, such as toileting, feeding, and using communication devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Patience, creativity, and dedication to individualized instruction

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction aligned with IEP goals
• Support students with personal care throughout the school day
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other specialists
• Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Communicate regularly with families on student progress and needs
• Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings

Role Details:

• Contract position running through June 7, 2027, with potential for renewal
• Elementary school-based, supporting students in a setting III classroom
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
