An opportunity is available for a certified Special Education Teacher serving students in grades 9 through 12 in a high school setting located in Minneapolis, MN. This contract position offers a structured schedule with approximately 7.25 hours of work per day, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, Monday through Friday. Typical daily hours start around 7:30 AM and end around 3:30 PM, though exact times may vary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate closely with related services staff to support students’ educational and developmental goals.
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 15 students between the ages of 14 and 18 (grades 9-12).
  • Utilize specialized teaching strategies to accommodate a diverse range of learning and behavioral needs within the special education population.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education License in Special Education.
  • Proven ability to craft and execute effective IEPs.
  • Strong teamwork skills to coordinate efforts with related services professionals.
  • Experience working with secondary education students (grades 9-12) preferred.
