Make an immediate impact in students’ lives as a Special Education Teacher for grades 9–12 at a high school near Minneapolis, MN. This rewarding contract position gives you the chance to work with a manageable caseload of 15 students, utilizing your expertise to develop and implement individualized instruction plans. Your day starts around 7:30 AM and ends around 3:30 PM, following a 7.25-hour workday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, Monday through Friday.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education License—Special Education (required)
  • Experience crafting, maintaining, and evaluating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with related services staff and general educators
  • Strong understanding of the needs of high school learners within the 9–12 age range
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a dedicated caseload of approximately 15 students receiving special education services
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Work alongside support staff, therapists, and other educators to provide comprehensive services
  • Adapt curriculum materials for diverse learning needs
  • Communicate regularly with students’ families to update progress and goals
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities as needed
