Certified Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Teacher - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Make a difference every day working with high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic learning environment near Minneapolis, MN. This contract opportunity is designed for educators passionate about supporting students with diverse needs in grades 9 through 12. You'll have a manageable caseload of 15 students, allowing you to provide meaningful, individualized attention and develop effective educational plans.

What you’ll bring:

• Valid Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education License in Special Education (required)
• Experience writing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with related services staff to support student growth
• Strong communication skills and flexibility to adapt to a changing school schedule

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality special education instruction to students in grades 9–12 within a high school setting
• Develop, write, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs and learning goals
• Work in close partnership with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages student achievement
• Collect and analyze student progress data to inform instruction and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations

Position Highlights:

• Full school days: 7.25 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, Monday through Friday
• Start and end times range, typically beginning around 7:30 am and concluding around 3:30 pm
