Grades 6 - 8 Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Teacher | Minneapolis, Minnesota

This contract opportunity for a certified Special Education Teacher allows you to work with students from kindergarten through high school in a supportive school environment close to Minneapolis, MN. You’ll collaborate with dedicated staff and families to inspire growth and foster independence in students with diverse learning needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience teaching special education at any or all of the following grade levels: K–5, 6–8, and/or 9–12
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adaptable, compassionate, and proactive approach to teaching
• Knowledge of current best practices in special education

What You’ll Do:

• Design and implement individualized instructional strategies for students with varying needs and abilities
• Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements and school policies
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, aides, support staff, and parents to support holistic student development
• Monitor and assess student progress, updating goals and instructional methods as needed
• Support students with behavioral, emotional, and social development, encouraging self-advocacy
• Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment
