Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced DCD Special Education Teacher to join our elementary school team. This position supports a Setting III program serving six students in grades K–1 with significant developmental and educational needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students receiving special education services and understand the importance of providing individualized academic, behavioral, communication, and personal care support in a structured and nurturing classroom environment.

Student Support Needs
Students in this program require a high level of individualized support. Responsibilities may include assisting students with:

Personal care needs, including toileting
Eating and mealtime support
Use of communication devices and other assistive technology
Functional communication and daily living skills
Academic and developmental activities
Social-emotional and behavioral needs
Transitions and participation in classroom and school activities
Candidates should be comfortable providing hands-on support and working collaboratively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, families, and other members of the educational team.

Qualifications
Valid Special Education teaching license/certification appropriate for the position
Tier 1 or Tier 2 candidates will be considered
Previous experience working in special education is required
Experience supporting students with significant developmental disabilities is preferred
Ability to provide personal care and hands-on assistance as needed
Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and classroom management skills
A patient, flexible, and student-centered approach
