Special Education Teacher | Mobile, Alabama

Key Qualifications:

• Valid and current Educator Certification required
• Experience working in self-contained special education classrooms preferred
• Strong understanding of instructional strategies for students with autism and those needing assistance with toileting
• Proven ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnering with staff, paraprofessionals, and families
• Must be comfortable working on-site; remote or VOCO options not available

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction and manage IEPs for a caseload of 12 K-5th grade students
• Foster an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom atmosphere
• Provide guidance and direction to a paraprofessional within the classroom
• Collaborate with fellow educators, administration, and support staff to ensure student success
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
• Support daily routines, including toileting assistance when necessary

This contract opportunity features a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, with hours from 7:40am to 3:20pm and a single-school assignment. Traveling candidates are encouraged to apply and bring their expertise to this impactful setting.
