High School Licensed Special Education Teacher | Mocksville, North Carolina

This full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week) runs from ASAP through the Extended School Year (ESY). You’ll play a vital role shaping young lives in a positive, structured environment designed for students with diverse learning needs in grades 9-12.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Adaptive Special Education Certification required
• Current state teaching license appropriate for high school level
• Experience working with students in self-contained or adaptive classrooms
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and behavioral support strategies
• Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute individualized lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique learning profile
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet IEP goals and maximize student engagement
• Foster a safe, supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes academic and social growth
• Collect data and maintain accurate student records in compliance with state and federal directives
• Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and fellow teachers
• Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and needs
• Participate in IEP meetings and professional development activities
