Key Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid Adaptive Special Education Certification
  • High School level teaching experience, preferably in a special education/adaptive self-contained setting
  • State certification and licensure appropriate for high school special education
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting diverse learning needs and creating inclusive environments
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, families, and service providers

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized instructional strategies for students in an adaptive self-contained classroom
  • Develop and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with students’ support teams
  • Track student progress, maintain detailed records, and adjust interventions as necessary
  • Foster an engaging classroom culture that emphasizes safety, respect, and positive behavior
  • Coordinate with school staff, therapists, and families to support student learning and development
  • Adhere to state and federal special education regulations throughout all planning and instructional activities

This position offers 37.5 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and continuing through the Extended School Year (ESY). The role provides a unique opportunity to create meaningful, lasting impacts for students who need it most, all within a dedicated high school community.
