Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for Illinois
• Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-aged students in a self-contained classroom
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with a range of learning differences in either primary (K-2) or upper elementary (4th-5th) grade
• Design and implement lesson plans that align with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Regularly assess student progress and adjust strategies as needed
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and other staff members
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance and behavior
• Cultivate a classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, growth, and achievement
