Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students with diverse needs in a dynamic school setting. This role focuses on both inclusion and specialized instruction, tailored to your preferred caseload—ranging from mild disabilities, autism, multiple severe disabilities, preschool-aged learners, and emotional disturbance programs. The assignment begins August 5th, 2026, and runs through June 4th, 2027, with a consistent Monday–Friday, 37.5-hour workweek.
Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching license (Teachers for Tomorrow candidates not considered)
- Experience in any of the following areas: mild to severe disabilities, autism, preschool special education, or emotional disturbance
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet individual student goals
- Passion for nurturing growth and resilience in students with unique challenges
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs customized to each student’s requirements
- Lead engaging classroom activities that foster academic, social, and emotional growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Maintain accurate records documenting progress and communicating with families
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and ongoing school initiatives
- Provide direct instruction, intervention, and support in accordance with each child’s plan
