Based near Monroe, NY, this is a contract opportunity beginning after background checks are completed through June 26, 2026, with the added chance to engage in a rewarding summer program lasting six weeks.
This full-time role offers a consistent 35-hour workweek. You’ll collaborate with skilled, trained staff to foster a supportive and inclusive environment, working with diverse learners—some verbal, some non-verbal, and some with behavioral needs.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Valid NY State Special Education Teacher Certification for the intended grade levels
- Master’s degree in Education (MA) required
- Previous experience working with students with developmental differences and behavioral needs
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to engage with colleagues, families, and the school community
- Compassion, adaptability, and commitment to individualized learning
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to small groups, with class sizes ranging from 6 to 12 students
- Utilize evidence-based strategies for learners with varying academic, behavioral, and communication needs
- Work closely with additional onsite staff, ensuring each student receives maximum support
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
