Inspire positive change and growth in the lives of exceptional learners as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students across a variety of grade levels including early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school. Based near Monroe, NY, this is a contract opportunity beginning after background checks are completed through June 26, 2026, with the added chance to engage in a rewarding summer program lasting six weeks.

This full-time role offers a consistent 35-hour workweek. You’ll collaborate with skilled, trained staff to foster a supportive and inclusive environment, working with diverse learners—some verbal, some non-verbal, and some with behavioral needs.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Valid NY State Special Education Teacher Certification for the intended grade levels
  • Master’s degree in Education (MA) required
  • Previous experience working with students with developmental differences and behavioral needs
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills to engage with colleagues, families, and the school community
  • Compassion, adaptability, and commitment to individualized learning

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to small groups, with class sizes ranging from 6 to 12 students
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies for learners with varying academic, behavioral, and communication needs
  • Work closely with additional onsite staff, ensuring each student receives maximum support
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
