Special Education Teacher - Montpelier, VT

Make a meaningful impact in education as a Special Education Teacher with two contract roles available for the 2026-2027 school year. You'll help empower students with diverse learning needs while collaborating closely with an experienced team of educators in a positive, supportive setting. Both positions are in-person and span from now through June 18, 2027, offering you the chance to build strong relationships with students and staff.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid state certification in Special Education (required for both positions)
• Previous experience teaching and case-managing students with IEPs preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with general and special education staff, parents, and support personnel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

• For Middle School: Teach and case-manage 5th and 6th-grade students, conduct evaluations, collaborate on multidisciplinary teams, and prepare comprehensive IEPs in partnership with families and stakeholders.
• For High School: Oversee the case management of students, provide targeted instruction for those on IEPs, and supervise paraeducators assisting with student support.
• Attend meetings, communicate with families, and participate in professional development opportunities
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements for special education
