Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Current Special Education Certification
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience working with students who have a variety of learning, emotional, or physical challenges
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility, patience, and resourcefulness in adapting to student needs
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive materials is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized lessons based on students’ abilities and IEP goals
- Assess students’ progress and adapt teaching strategies as necessary
- Establish an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere that leverages each child’s strengths
- Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to coordinate services
- Maintain timely, accurate records and document student progress
- Provide guidance to students on adaptive skills, social development, and coping strategies
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student growth
