As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll play an essential role in the lives of students with moderate to severe disabilities, designing interventions that foster their academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active Colorado Special Education License or have eligibility to obtain one via reciprocity.
- Previous experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in implementing behavioral support and effective classroom management.
- Background in supervising and guiding paraprofessional staff is a plus.
- Commitment to collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, paraprofessionals, administrators, and families.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality specialized instruction tailored for students needing significant support.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student-specific goals.
- Employ individualized supports and behavior intervention strategies.
- Collaborate closely with support personnel, families, and allied professionals to maximize student success.
- Collect, maintain, and review student progress data and ensure all compliance documentation is up-to-date.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and team planning sessions.
