Make a difference this upcoming school year by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher, focusing on mild to moderate needs within a supportive and collaborative K–12 environment. This full-time, contract opportunity provides the chance to develop meaningful relationships and create positive impact at an alternative academy committed to student growth. The position begins August 17, 2026, and runs through May 27, 2027, aligning with the academic calendar.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Valid Colorado Special Education License (Mild/Moderate) or eligibility for licensure through reciprocity
  • Experience working with students with mild/moderate disabilities is preferred
  • Proficient in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs and maintaining compliance documentation
  • Familiarity with behavioral supports, differentiated instruction, and accommodation strategies
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
  • Preferred: Experience across K–12 settings, alternative or therapeutic environments, and with PBIS, MTSS, BIPs, and FBAs
  • Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to K–12 students receiving special education services
  • Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate effectively with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families
  • Implement progress monitoring and maintain compliance with IDEA, state, and district regulations
  • Deliver differentiated instruction and implement classroom and behavioral interventions
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, eligibility determinations, and IEP reviews
  • Create an inclusive and structured classroom environment that nurtures student independence and achievement

This position is onsite only at a dynamic academy serving the full K–12 spectrum. The caseload is mild/moderate, with specific details to be provided soon.
