Position Overview
Soliant Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher for a contract assignment in Montrose, Colorado. The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction, manage IEPs, and work closely with students, families, and educational teams to foster academic and personal growth.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction to students eligible for special education services.
Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and maintain accurate documentation.
Modify curriculum, lessons, and assessments to accommodate varying learning abilities.
Collaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, therapists, and support staff.
Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and parent conferences.
Utilize evidence-based instructional practices and behavior management strategies.
Support students in developing academic, social, emotional, and life skills.
Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a related field.
Active Colorado Special Education Teaching License or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and IEP compliance requirements.
Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred
Master's Degree in Special Education or related field.
Previous school-based special education teaching experience.
Experience with resource, inclusion, or self-contained classroom settings.
Familiarity with behavioral intervention plans and data collection practices.
