Special Education Teacher in Mooresville, NC

We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers with a passion for fostering growth and positive outcomes for students who require an adapted curriculum, as well as resource and inclusion services.

EC Special Education Teachers will serve middle and high school students with diverse abilities, including those with a high level of autism following the extended content standard. Positions are available in both adapted curriculum and inclusion/resource settings. The contract runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, with working hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm (up to 40 hours a week).

What We’re Looking For:

• Current Adapted Curriculum teaching license (required for the Discovery School opening)
• Experience or a strong interest in working with students with autism and varying learning needs
• Ability to manage a caseload of 15-18 students in middle and high school settings
• Flexible, compassionate approach to individualized instruction and support
• Strong collaboration skills to work with paraprofessionals, general educators, and families
• Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging, adapted instruction to meet the unique needs of each student
• Develop, monitor, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Utilize varied teaching methods and materials tailored to student strengths and challenges
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment supporting emotional and academic growth
• Collect and analyze data to inform instructional decisions and report progress
