Special Education Teacher - Mooresville, North Carolina

In this full-time, contract opportunity, you’ll be instrumental in fostering academic growth and a positive learning environment. With a caseload of 16 students, your primary focus will be enhancing Math and Reading skills through both inclusion support and targeted resource instruction. The schedule offers consistency, running Monday through Friday from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience supporting middle school learners, preferably at the 8th-grade level.
• Solid background providing Math and Reading interventions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families.
• Familiarity with inclusion and resource room models.
• Ability to manage a caseload and provide individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs.

Primary Duties:

• Plan, implement, and adapt instructional strategies for Math and Reading tailored to each student’s IEP goals.
• Deliver inclusive support within the general education classroom and lead small group or one-on-one resource sessions.
• Track student progress and regularly update IEP documentation.
• Communicate with team members and families to ensure collaborative support of students’ academic and social success.
• Foster a respectful and encouraging environment that empowers students to achieve their personal best.
