Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students who have cognitive impairments and/or significant autism.
  • Strong skills in creating and modifying Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Effective communication and teamwork with colleagues, families, and support staff.
  • Compassion, adaptability, and a positive attitude toward diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement specialized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
  • Differentiate teaching methods and materials to suit individual strengths and challenges.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain data, and report on academic and behavioral outcomes.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support services to maximize student success.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and classroom activities.
