Exciting opportunity for a Special Education professional with expertise in orthopedic impairments! You’ll thrive in a consultative position serving schools as a vital resource for ensuring high-quality services for students with orthopedic needs. This full-time contract role focuses on supporting districts in meeting their OI requirements—without the responsibility of managing a classroom or providing direct student services.

As a key consultant, you'll work on-site, collaborating with educators and administrators. Your expertise in orthopedic impairments will be instrumental in guiding teams, evaluating needs, and ensuring that federal and state requirements are consistently met.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher credential, including Orthopedic Impairment (OI) certification
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, Case Manager, or related position in a school setting
  • Familiarity with IEP processes, especially for students with orthopedic impairments
  • Strong consultative and interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with school teams
  • Comfortable working fully on-site (virtual work not available)
  • Organizational skills for managing equipment orders and assessments

Responsibilities:

  • Attend IEP meetings as an OI specialist/resource (not responsible for writing IEPs or organizing meetings)
  • Conduct student assessments relating to orthopedic impairments
  • Order and recommend specialized equipment as needed for student access and participation
  • Support school districts in fulfilling and documenting OI requirements
  • Provide ongoing consultative guidance to student teams and administrators
