Special Education Teacher - Morganton, NC

Make a positive difference in elementary education as a Special Education Teacher supporting K-5 students in general curriculum classrooms. This full-time contract role involves working with a diverse group of 15-18 students, providing both inclusive and pull-out instruction across all academic subjects. The position is based near Morganton, NC, and is ready to interview and hire as soon as possible!

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Current licensure as a Special Education Teacher or eligibility for certification
• Experience delivering general curriculum to elementary-aged students
• Strong skills in creating individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers and support staff
• Excellent organizational, communication, and classroom management abilities
• Experience in both co-teaching (inclusion) and resource/pull-out models preferred, but not required

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Deliver special education services to a caseload of 15-18 students, blending inclusion and pull-out support
• Adapt general education curriculum to meet individual learning needs
• Collect and maintain student data, progress monitoring, and IEP documentation
• Collaborate with general educators, administrators, and families to ensure student success
• Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
• Flexibility to work across two campuses within a short distance (2.5 miles apart), with a schedule of 2 days at one campus and 3 days at the other if desired. Staying at a single campus is also an option based on candidate preference
