Special Education Teacher | Morganton, North Carolina

Seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to support elementary-level students in a rewarding, contract-based role. Located conveniently near Morganton, NC, this full-time opportunity is ready for immediate interview and hire! You’ll play a pivotal role in fostering academic and social growth for 15–18 exceptional learners, providing both inclusion and pull-out services across all elementary subjects.

In this role, flexibility is valued. The ideal candidate will divide their week between two welcoming campuses just 2.5 miles apart, spending two days at one and three days at the other. However, accommodations can be made to remain at a single campus if preferred—your comfort and effectiveness matter most.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Special Education teaching certification for elementary grades
• Experience delivering both inclusion and pull-out services
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt instruction for varied learning needs and maintain a positive learning environment
• Demonstrated commitment to student progress in all academic areas
• Excellent communication for working with students, staff, and families

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in all core subjects
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement IEP goals
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom culture
• Communicate regularly with families to celebrate successes and address challenges
