Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification required
- Experience working with high school populations preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and compliance
- Familiarity with co-teaching and inclusive classroom practices
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to develop and adapt engaging lesson plans for diverse learners
- Comfortable collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students on your English/Special Education caseload
- Adapt curriculum to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring alignment with IEP goals
- Assess student progress and document data for ongoing evaluations
- Partner with general education teachers to facilitate inclusion and co-teaching environments
- Maintain and update student records in compliance with district and state requirements
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, fostering strong home-school connections
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
