Special Education Teacher - Morristown, New Jersey

Step into a fulfilling role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. You’ll provide instruction and support to students on an English/Special Education caseload, covering a maternity leave that concludes on 5/28.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification required
• Experience working with high school populations preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and compliance
• Familiarity with co-teaching and inclusive classroom practices
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Ability to develop and adapt engaging lesson plans for diverse learners
• Comfortable collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students on your English/Special Education caseload
• Adapt curriculum to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring alignment with IEP goals
• Assess student progress and document data for ongoing evaluations
• Partner with general education teachers to facilitate inclusion and co-teaching environments
• Maintain and update student records in compliance with district and state requirements
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, fostering strong home-school connections
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
