A high school special education position is available for the summer and the 2025-2026 school year in Morton, IL. This full-time role offers a meaningful opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs in an educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Licensed Behavior Specialist I (LBSI) and Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience working with high school students in special education settings
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education laws
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and interventions tailored to high school students’ unique needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and mentorship activities
- Maintain appropriate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
