Step into an engaging educational environment supporting students with unique needs in a specialized middle school program. This is a full-time, onsite position for a dedicated Special Education Teacher, running from August 17th through June 4th. You'll work closely with a diverse group of approximately 15 students as part of the Learning for Life Program, making a significant impact on their academic and personal growth.

Essential qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification is required.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students, particularly those with varying learning needs.
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families.
  • Ability to craft and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), tracking and documenting progress consistently.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to support daily classroom management and documentation needs.
  • Adaptability and a passion for fostering inclusive, positive learning environments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction and differentiated lessons tailored to each student’s educational goals.
  • Create a structured classroom atmosphere that emphasizes respect, growth, and achievement.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
  • Implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in students’ IEPs.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with families and related service providers regarding student progress.
  • Manage daily classroom operations from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
