Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (NJ)
- Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs, ideally grades 6–12
- Flexibility and adaptability in a collaborative, multi-district program environment
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to individualized instruction, IEP implementation, and transitional support
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, individualized lesson plans for both middle and high school students
- Implement and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to align with student goals
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including other teachers, therapists, and district partners
- Support students’ transition planning, focusing on life skills and postsecondary readiness
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere that fosters learning and growth
