As the dedicated Special Education Teacher, you’ll have your own classroom space and three instructional assistants to help foster an engaging, nurturing learning atmosphere.
This contract position begins part-time, with up to 30 hours per week and flexibility for additional full-day coverage or extra hours, as needed. There’s also potential for this role to evolve into full-time as new students enroll. You’ll work closely with another experienced ECSE teacher, providing a valuable resource for collaboration, mentorship, and support throughout the school year.
Qualifications and Experience:
- State certification in Special Education (ECSE or equivalent) required
- Previous experience working with children in early childhood or special education settings preferred
- Strong communication abilities with students, staff, and families
- Capacity to individualize instruction based on student needs and IEP goals
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability are essential
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans for a small group of young learners
- Collaborate with three dedicated assistants to create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and team members
- Contribute to a positive school community through professional development and collaboration
