Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active certification as a Special Education Teacher for grades 3-5
- Prior experience working in a school-based special education setting
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), adapted instruction, and differentiated learning techniques
- Certification or substantial training in Orton-Gillingham (preferred, not required)
- Commitment to evidence-based literacy and intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with general education staff, support professionals, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted and small group instruction for students with diverse learning needs, focusing on academic, behavioral, and social development
- Adapt curriculum and modify lessons to address IEP goals and objectives
- Implement specialized instructional techniques, particularly for reading and writing
- Collaborate closely with grade-level teams, parents, and support staff to tailor learning experiences
- Maintain accurate documentation related to student progress, IEP compliance, and professional communication
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and parent conferences as required
