An education position is available for a Special Education Teacher in a high school setting located in Napa, CA. This role offers an opportunity to directly impact the academic and social development of students with mild to moderate special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students in grades 8th through 12th.
  • Manage a resource caseload of approximately 10 students.
  • Deliver tailored support according to each student’s individualized education plan (IEP).
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate student success.
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Mild/Moderate Special Education teaching credential.
  • Experience working with resource caseload models is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans and special education laws.
  • Ability to engage and motivate adolescents with diverse learning needs.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with educators, parents, and students.

Position Details:

  • Part-time: 20 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Partial days on Mondays, full days on Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • Direct hire opportunity within the current school year.
