Special Ed Teacher | Naperville, Illinois

This opportunity is for multiple Special Education Teachers to support a high-needs student population in a K-12 school setting in Naperville, IL. The role focuses on late elementary to high school students with autism and secondary disabilities, many of whom use communication devices.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing specialized instruction and support to students with autism and secondary disabilities across functional classroom settings.
• Assisting students with communication, including those who are nonverbal.
• Promoting community engagement and daily living skills to enhance independence.
• Managing a high staff-to-student ratio to ensure individualized attention.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet student goals.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum and secondary disabilities.
• Knowledge of communication devices and strategies to support nonverbal students.
• Ability to develop and implement functional and community-based learning activities.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to work within a structured team environment.
• Previous experience in K-12 special education settings preferred.
