Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement
• Previous experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably within special education
• Proficient in developing and modifying instructional strategies for students with diverse learning needs
• Understanding of IEP development, goal tracking, and progress monitoring
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Collaborative mindset, able to work alongside faculty, parents, and support staff

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated reading and math instruction to elementary special education students
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), documenting progress and modifying goals as necessary
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to assess student progress and adapt strategies
• Communicate regularly with families, providing updates on academic and behavioral progress
• Participate in professional development and maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations
