Make a meaningful impact as a dedicated Special Education professional for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract position offers the chance to work in a supportive instructional classroom setting, providing vital services to a small group of elementary students in grades 3 and 4. The assignment begins August 26, 2026, and runs through June 3, 2027.
You'll work 37.5 hours weekly, with school day hours from 8:40AM to 3:25PM. The selected educator will guide five students, ensuring a manageable caseload and the opportunity for focused, individualized instruction. Your expertise and commitment can make a significant difference as you foster both student growth and classroom inclusivity.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid Illinois Special Education Teacher licensure and certification
- Prior school-based experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Strong familiarity with adapting and differentiating curriculum for elementary-age learners
- Confidence in collaborating with support staff and families
- Effective communication and classroom management skills
- Availability for a 30-minute interview as part of the hiring process
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in a specialized classroom environment
- Monitor academic and social progress, maintaining thorough documentation
- Work closely with related service providers, parents, and school teams
- Create a positive and structured learning atmosphere that promotes student confidence and success
