Special Education Teacher - Naperville, Illinois

This contract position for the 2026–2027 academic year is focused on providing high-quality support for students with IEPs, helping them achieve their educational goals and thrive in an inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will bring dedication, compassion, and expertise to create individualized programs and work collaboratively with a dynamic educational team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals tailored to each student’s abilities and needs
• Deliver differentiated instruction and adapt curricular materials to accommodate learning differences
• Assess and monitor academic progress, documenting growth and reporting findings at required intervals
• Utilize effective classroom and behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning environment
• Participate actively in IEP meetings, maintaining open and constructive communication with families
• Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and other service providers to support comprehensive student growth
• Guide and supervise paraprofessionals, ensuring all students receive the attention they require

Desired Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Professional Educator License
• Valid LBS1 endorsement; K–12 coverage preferred
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities or in special education settings is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to organize, communicate, and maintain effective classroom management
