This full-time opportunity runs from August 19, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a 35-hour work week and a start time of 7:45am.
Key Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required
- Experience or enthusiasm for teaching middle school special education
- Strong collaboration and co-teaching skills
- Ability to support diverse learning needs within ELA and Math classrooms
- Effective communicator with students, team members, and parents
Core Responsibilities:
- Co-teach 6th and 7th grade ELA (up to 3 classes) and Math (up to 2 classes)
- Collaborate with two other teachers to plan and deliver differentiated instruction
- Support inclusion and individualized education plans to promote student success
- Foster a supportive, attentive environment that encourages academic and social growth
- Communicate progress regularly to parents and the educational team
- Contribute to a positive classroom culture that values each learner’s strengths
- Maintain detailed records in alignment with school and district guidelines
