Special Education Teacher | Naperville, Illinois

In this contract role, you'll use your expertise as both a Special Education Teacher and General Education Teacher to provide essential support to students from PreK through 8th grade. This engaging opportunity is available for the full school year, with a commitment of 14 hours per week, and is conveniently located near Naperville and Glendale Heights.

As an English Learner (EL) Teacher, you'll play a pivotal role in fostering inclusive classroom environments, tailoring lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students, and guiding learners as they build English language proficiency. Your impact will help shape confident, lifelong learners prepared for future academic success.

What We're Looking For:

• Current teaching certification with endorsements in Special Education and/or English as a Second Language
• Experience teaching PreK-8 students in both general education and special education settings
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow educators, support staff, and families
• Passion for supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic growth
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

What You'll Do:

• Teach and support EL students across the PreK-8 spectrum, adapting curriculum to support varying proficiency levels and learning needs
• Develop and implement IEPs in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams
• Monitor and document student progress toward academic and language goals
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to deliver inclusive instruction
• Communicate regularly with families to build engagement and support student success
• Participate in professional development and school community events
