What This Role Typically Involves:
- Managing a caseload of 40-50 students, primarily in the K-8 range
- Working approximately 37.5 hours weekly on a consistent schedule
- Coordinating all aspects of special education services for assigned students
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized education programs
- Leading virtual eligibility meetings, annual reviews, and reevaluations
- Serving as the main point of contact between families, teachers, and service providers
Core Responsibilities Include:
Writing comprehensive, legally compliant IEPs that reflect student needs and appropriate goals; scheduling and facilitating virtual team meetings with parents, teachers, administrators, and related service providers; monitoring progress on IEP goals and making data-driven recommendations; ensuring timelines are met for evaluations, eligibility determinations, and annual reviews; maintaining organized digital case files and documentation; collaborating with general education teachers to support inclusive practices; communicating proactively with families about student progress and upcoming meetings; coordinating with outside agencies when students receive services from multiple sources; supporting the referral and evaluation process for new students.
Required Credentials:
Active case manager or special education licensure in New Hampshire (must be current); Master's degree from an accredited program; minimum of 2 years working in school-based settings with demonstrated case management experience; thorough understanding of IDEA regulations and special education law; proven ability to write clear, appropriate IEPs and manage complex caseloads; strong interpersonal skills for building relationships remotely.
Virtual Work Setup: You'll need reliable high-speed internet, a private space for conducting confidential meetings, and comfort using technology platforms for meetings, documentation, and communication. Basic proficiency with video conferencing and willingness to learn district-specific case management software systems is expected.
