Special Education Teacher in Nashua, NH

This contract position begins with the first day of school on August 27, with IEP implementation starting on September 9.

One position will work across two schools, with a main focus at the middle school (hours: 7:45 am–2:15 pm) and at the elementary school (hours: 8:45 am–3:15 pm) supporting 4th-grade students. The caseload will be tailored based on the number of contractors—one educator would be responsible for 17 students, while two educators would each manage a caseload of 13 or 14. Five students require 1:1 services, and virtual speech therapy is currently established for those who need it.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification in Special Education
• Experience supporting students in grades 3 and 7 is preferred
• Ability to effectively manage a diverse caseload, including students with 1:1 needs
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Familiarity with IEP development and compliance
• Flexibility to split time between school sites as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a case manager overseeing IEPs and daily supports for assigned students
• Provide direct specialized instruction and collaborate with classroom teachers
• Liaise with related service providers, including virtual therapists
• Coordinate with school teams to prioritize middle school needs
• Support student transitions and individualized academic planning
