This full-time, contract position spans from ASAP through June 2027, offering a steady schedule of 35-37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The opportunity is located near Nashua, NH and centers on making a significant impact in a Life Skills/Intensive Needs program with a small caseload—just three students this school year.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for the state of New Hampshire
- Previous experience with students requiring life skills or intensive special education services
- Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt instruction and strategies to meet individualized student needs
- Comfort with managing a smaller classroom and working closely with support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as case manager for a caseload of 5th and 6th grade students in the Life Skills/Intensive Needs program
- Develop and deliver targeted instruction and curriculum modifications
- Collaborate with parents, general education staff, and support personnel
- Create a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages student growth and independence
- Track and report student progress; ensure compliance with IDEA and state regulations
- Foster meaningful relationships with students to promote social and academic development
