Special Education Teacher - Nashville, TN

This contract opportunity runs from August 25, 2026, through May 26, 2027, at a dynamic elementary setting near Nashville, TN. You’ll provide tailored instruction to young learners with special needs, nurturing their growth and development during the school year.

What we’re seeking:

• Valid Tennessee Special Education License with one or more of these endorsements: 459, 465, 468, 2000, 2001
• Candidates with a Tennessee SPED endorsement may be eligible to secure a Pre-K endorsement by passing the appropriate Praxis exam; the school will cover this cost for exceptional applicants
• Previous experience working with preschool-aged children and delivering individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong understanding of early childhood development, classroom management strategies, and inclusive teaching practices
• Collaborative approach to working with families, support staff, and other educators
• Ability to create engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to a Pre-K caseload

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEPs for Pre-K students with diverse learning needs
• Deliver small group and individual instruction aligned with best practices in early intervention
• Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
• Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and communication with families
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and multidisciplinary team collaboration
