An exciting contract opportunity is available for skilled Special Education teachers looking to make a difference across Carbon and Lehigh Counties. This itinerant role supports various school sites by providing essential coverage during absences, leaves, or vacations. You’ll enjoy a dynamic environment, working within multiple classrooms alongside dedicated educators, and contributing to student success during the academic year from August 2026 through June 2027 (dates are tentative and follow the local school calendar).
Key Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania teaching license.
- Current PDE certification: Experience-Based Certificate in Special Education PK-12, Instructional I, and/or Instructional II in the relevant Special Education subjects.
- Demonstrated background in special education classroom settings.
- Direct experience developing and implementing IEPs.
- Willingness to work in-person only.
- Thorough documentation: Must provide proof of active licensure and certification via TIMS.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an itinerant Special Education teacher within a designated geographic area of Carbon or Lehigh County.
- Fill in for teacher absences or extended leaves at various school sites.
- When not providing coverage, support instruction in Intermediate Unit classrooms.
- Collaborate with school teams on IEPs and provide tailored support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Contribute to a positive, flexible, and adaptable working environment while ensuring continuity of education for students.
The weekly schedule offers 35 hours and the satisfaction of fostering student growth in different educational settings.
