A full-time Special Education Teacher is needed to support middle school students during the Extended School Year (ESY) program in New Bedford, MA. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in an onsite, classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to promote student progress and success
- Monitor and document student performance, behavior, and development throughout the ESY program
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere for all learners
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with middle school students in a special education setting
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and IEP development
- Ability to manage a full-time onsite schedule during the ESY contract period
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
