Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
  • Demonstrated experience teaching secondary math, preferably in a middle or high school environment
  • Strong classroom management skills and an adaptive instructional style
  • Ability to develop and modify IEPs in accordance with current regulations and student needs
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
  • Comfort working with diverse learners and a passion for inclusive education

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engaging and differentiated instruction in math to special education students, following curriculum guidelines and IEP specifications
  • Assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods to meet individual needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Participate in IEP and team meetings to support student success
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and behavior
  • Communicate closely with parents, support staff, and administrators
  • Foster a supportive, positive classroom culture that encourages student growth
