Special Education Teacher | New Berlin, Wisconsin

Step into an impactful opportunity as a Special Education teacher in a self-contained Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) classroom, beginning on 2/20. This contract role focuses on supporting a small group of students—currently three, with capacity to expand to six or seven—each receiving dedicated attention and guidance. You will work alongside a classroom aide, collaborating to create a positive and structured environment conducive to student growth and success.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education, with an emphasis on EBD or a closely related area
• Demonstrated, extensive experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors
• Strong behavioral intervention and classroom management skills
• Ability to collaborate with aides and support staff for individualized student support
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Knowledge of implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and adapting instruction accordingly

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and behavioral support to students with emotional and behavioral needs
• Develop and implement tailored strategies and interventions based on individual student goals and IEPs
• Maintain detailed and consistent documentation regarding academic progress and behavior plans
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment for students and staff alike
• Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary team members to support student development
