Desired Qualifications:

• Active Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) for the state
• Experience teaching at the high school level preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Passion for working with students in a self-contained classroom setting
• Ability to create structured, engaging lesson plans tailored to varying needs
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students in a high school self-contained classroom
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
• Utilize effective classroom management techniques and positive behavior supports
• Maintain accurate records and report on student progress
