Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Current, active CT Special Education Teacher License required
  • Proven experience in special education or related instructional settings
  • Familiarity with a variety of learning strategies for diverse needs
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Compassion, patience, and creativity in the classroom
  • Certifications specific to special education, as required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student IEPs
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
  • Maintain accurate records consistent with school standards
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student development
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to academic planning

Assignment Details:

  • 35 hours per week onsite
  • Assignments available on the following dates:
    • 9/15–10/27 for Special Education Teacher (BoE)
    • 9/28–12/23 for Special Education Teacher (Central)
    • 11/26–2/28 for Special Education Teacher (Prep)
