Key Qualifications:

  • Current and active Connecticut SPED Teacher License.
  • All state-required certifications for Special Education instruction.
  • Experience in K-12 special education settings preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized education plans.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively support students, families, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a diverse student population.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Instruct students in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Act as a substitute covering leave, maintaining continuity for assigned caseloads.
  • Track student progress and manage necessary documentation for compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with parents, staff, and administration to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies for varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input to support student achievement.
