Grades 9 - 12 Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher in New Britain, CT

Make a meaningful impact supporting secondary students as a Special Education professional in a dynamic school environment. This contract role, based in a resource and push-in classroom setting, serves middle and high school learners with diverse needs. The assignment begins ASAP and continues through June 10, 2027, offering consistent full-time hours at 37.5 per week.

Successful candidates will play a vital role in developing and implementing IEPs, providing direct instruction, and managing cases to ensure student success. Collaboration with educators, families, and service providers is essential as you facilitate inclusive learning experiences and advocate for each student's growth.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Connecticut teaching license with 165 or 265 Special Education Certification
• Consideration may be given to candidates holding a DSAP
• Previous experience supporting students in grades 6–8 or 9–12
• Strong command of IEP procedures, goal setting, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive learning atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

• Write and maintain individualized education plans (IEPs)
