Special Education Teacher in New Castle, CO

Two full-time roles are available for skilled Special Education Teachers who are passionate about making a positive impact on students’ growth and success. These onsite positions cover the 2026–2027 school year, working with students requiring mild to moderate support.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Teaching License
• Special Education (SPED) endorsement required
• Experience or comfort supporting mild/moderate behavioral needs
• Willingness to assist with toileting needs as necessary
• Previous experience working in a school setting strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to either middle school (grades 6–8) or high school (grades 9–12) students according to individualized education plans
• Manage a caseload of approximately 25–30 students, adapting lessons and strategies to support diverse learning needs
• Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to promote student inclusion and success
• Implement classroom management and positive behavioral support plans tailored to students’ mild/moderate needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and timely reports for students’ progress, interventions, and compliance requirements
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Participate actively in team meetings, staff development, and IEP meetings
