Special Education Teacher | New Castle, Colorado

A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support students with mild to moderate needs in a middle to high school setting. This is an onsite role within a collaborative and supportive academic environment, welcoming both local and traveling professionals.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a caseload of approximately 25–30 students, providing tailored support and specialized instruction. Your expertise will help empower students to achieve academic and personal growth, utilizing evidence-based interventions and strategies while maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Teaching License is required
• SPED Endorsement needed
• Previous experience working with middle or high school students preferred
• Ability to support students with mild to moderate behavioral and academic needs
• Willingness to assist with toileting needs if necessary
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction aligned with IEP goals and accommodations
• Collaborate with general education staff, families, and related service providers to promote inclusion and academic progress
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation (IEPs, progress reports, data collection)
• Foster a supportive learning environment while implementing behavioral management strategies
• Ensure compliance with state and federal special education requirements
