Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with 5th and/or 6th grade students
• Strong knowledge of best practices for individualized instruction
• Ability to adapt general education curriculum through differentiated strategies
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and families
• Patient, understanding, and committed to student-centered teaching

Responsibilities:

• Deliver push-in and pull-out specialized instruction aligned with student IEPs
• Assess academic and developmental needs, monitor progress, and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with a paraprofessional to create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
• Work with general education teachers to modify lessons and activities
• Manage classroom behaviors and develop social-emotional skills
• Participate in IEP meetings, provide regular updates, and partner with families on student progress
