Grades K - 5 Special Education Teacher in New Haven, CT

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut teaching license: Must hold either a 165 or 265 CT Special Education PK-12 certification (DSAP licenses are not eligible)
• Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher with K-5 students preferred
• In-depth understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Proficiency in delivering individualized instruction and adapting curriculum based on diverse learning needs
• Compassionate communication skills, paired with excellent collaboration abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted, resource-based instruction within a dedicated pull-out classroom setting to elementary students, K-5
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), monitoring student progress and making data-driven modifications as needed
• Partner with general education teachers, aides, and support staff to ensure inclusive and cohesive educational experiences
• Maintain clear, ongoing communication with families regarding student goals, progress, and strategies for success
• Attend required meetings, document student performance, and uphold all school and district policies
