Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid state certification in Special Education
• Experience working with middle school-aged students, preferably in grades 7-8
• Strong knowledge of developing and implementing IEPs
• Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow teachers, support staff, and families
• Skill in classroom management and positive behavior supports
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Adaptable, patient, and proactive in meeting students’ diverse needs

What You’ll Do:

• Teach and support a small caseload of 15 students in core academic and life skills
• Tailor lesson plans to build on individual strengths and address learning challenges
• Regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Coordinate with general education teachers, aides, and therapists to implement IEP goals
• Foster a classroom culture of respect, safety, and growth-minded learning
• Attend IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required
• Document progress and maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements
